ENG: In the heart of the Mediterranean, amidst the winding streets of Naples and the enchanting Procida, lies "‘A Staggione," a series of black and white photographs that capture the uniqueness and vibrancy of the Neapolitan summer through the lens of a native son.
"‘A Staggione" - the season, in Italian - is a term used in the streets of Naples to denote summer, not just for its simplicity, but for the immense significance it holds for the local community. The Neapolitan summer is more than just a change in climate; it is a rhythm, a sensation, a way of life that surpasses all other seasons, reducing them to mere preludes.
Under the scorching sun, the author's black and white photographs capture the summer scenes, sometimes populated by figures, sometimes deserted, in an exquisite tension between presence and absence, light and shadow, reality and memory.
By adopting a panoramic format, the project aims to mimic how the human eye adapts to the intense sunlight. Just as our eyelids narrow to protect our eyes from the glare, the digital sensor of the lens is perturbed, providing a visually elongated and horizontally extended experience. This expressive choice not only suggests the physicality of the experience but also evokes an embrace that encompasses the vastness of the Neapolitan summer.

ITA: Nel cuore del Mediterraneo, tra le strade tortuose di Napoli e la suggestiva Procida, sorge "‘A Staggione", una serie di fotografie in bianco e nero che raccontano l'unicità e la vivacità dell'estate partenopea attraverso la lente di un figlio del Sud.
"‘A Staggione" - la stagione, in italiano - è un termine utilizzato nelle strade di Napoli per indicare l'estate, non tanto per la sua semplicità, quanto per l'enorme significato che questo periodo dell'anno porta con sé per la comunità locale. L'estate napoletana non è solo un cambio di clima, è un ritmo, una sensazione, un modo di vivere che supera tutte le altre stagioni, riducendole a un semplice preludio.
Sotto il sole cocente, le fotografie in bianco e nero dell'autore catturano le scene estive, talvolta popolate di figure, talvolta deserte, in una raffinata tensione tra presenza ed assenza, luce ed ombra, realtà e memoria.
